- Development of micro structures for controlled release drug delivery
- Development of micro-fabrication system
- Development of anti-cancer medicine/protein/peptide drug delivery system for controlled release
- Evaluation of release in drug delivery and performing clinical demonstration
- Construction of material and shape database for drug delivery system

Controlled Local Drug Delivery

- Lower doses (delivered at intended sites)
- Lower side effects for highly potent drugs
- Replacing multiple injection/oral dosing
- Improving patients' quality of life

Fabrication of Drug Delivery System

- Design of functionally controlled release drug delivery system and arranging fundamentals of manufacturing techniques
- Fabricated drug delivery device using multi-dispensing rapid prototyping system


Biodegradable polymers

- Degrade by the activity of biological agents
- Degrade by the hydrolytic cleavage of backbone of the polymers
- Hydrolytic degradation

Expected Contribution

- Design of functionally controlled release drug delivery system and arranging fundamentals of manufacturing techniques
- Accumulation of the material and shape information for drug delivery system
- Construction of interdisciplinary research network for drug delivery system
- Development of controlled release drug delivery system will be used to develop of high efficiency drugs and extend the existing drugs life
- Improvement in cost and efficiency of production by mass production/customizing drugs
