The fiber-reinforced composite materials have been advanced for various applications because of its excellent mechanical and electromagnetic properties. On their manufacturing processes, however, thermo-curing inherently produces the undesired thermal deformation mainly from temperature drop from the process temperature to the room temperature, so called spring-back. The spring-back must be understood especially in the hybrid composites in order to design and fabricated desired shape.
This site was developed to compensate spring-back of asymmetric hybrid composites (composed of two different materials). To eliminate the spring-back, a numerical model was composed using CLT (Classical Lamination Theory), and NC codes can be generated to fabricate springback-free molds. And in concept of reverse engineering, the NC-code for mold free from spring-back was generated. The SCS (Spring-back Compensation Service) system was verified various experiments and FEM (ANSYS).
